On beauty, story, and the art of paying attention.
I’ve spent most of my life around tables.
Restaurant tables. Family tables. Styling tables. Art tables. Editing desks covered in photographs and recipe notes and books stacked too high.
Maison & Menu is where all of those worlds finally sit together.
Not as a brand performance.
Not as an algorithm strategy.
But as a publication about beauty, nourishment, story, and the art of paying attention.

For years, I tried to separate the pieces of myself into neat little categories.
The chef.
The photographer.
The designer.
The educator.
The health coach.
The woman who collects menus from old restaurants because the typography still makes her heart skip a beat.
The person who notices the light coming through the kitchen window before she notices almost anything else.
But life rarely works in neat categories.
The truth is that all of these things have always belonged together.
Food has never been just food to me.
A table has never been just a table.
Art has never been something reserved for museums or people with expensive degrees and intimidating vocabulary.
Beauty matters because people matter.
A thoughtfully set table says, “You are welcome here.”
A handwritten recipe card says, “Someone made this before you.”
A photograph becomes proof that a moment existed.
A beautiful room can steady a weary spirit.
A meal shared slowly can become memory.
Maison & Menu was born from that belief.
This space will hold many things:
- meals and menus
- food photography
- seasonal reflections
- art and visual culture
- creative living
- nourishment without obsession
- stories from the studio
- thoughts on beauty, memory, and making a life
Some posts may feel like essays.
Some may feel like journal entries.
Some may be a beautiful recipe or a photograph I can’t stop thinking about.
But underneath all of it is one quiet idea:
That beauty is not frivolous.
That paying attention is a form of care.
And that the things we create around our tables and in our homes shape our lives more than we realize.
I don’t want this to feel rushed or noisy here.
There is already enough noise.
I want this publication to feel more like being invited into the kitchen while something good is simmering on the stove. A stack of books nearby. Music playing softly. A conversation unfolding slowly over time.
So whether you arrived here because of food, photography, design, homeschooling, art history, wellness, storytelling, or simple curiosity…
Welcome.
I’m glad you’re here.
